Tyrone Electrical Services Expansion
Tyrone has recently been quoting interstate projects. With interstate expansion staff will be added to our already substantially growing workforce in South Australia.
DTEI Category 1 Status
Tyrone Electrical Services have achieved South Australian DTEI Category 1 status. Certificate Number 2007T0160 was issued and is valid until 1 February 2013.
This allows us to quote for virtually all Government projects and has led to a further expansion of Tyrone's activities.
Techport Australia
One of Tyrone Electrical Services largest contracts to date was the Techport Australia, Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Systems Centre and Raytheon Project.
The AWD Systems Centre is the engine room of the nation building Air Warfare Destroyer project – one of Australia's largest naval shipbuilding projects ever.
This state-of-the-art project management, engineering and commercial headquarters of the AWD project houses AWD Alliance partners and this high-tech hub is where around 400 expert naval architects, project managers, combat systems engineers, logistics teams, planners and procurements specialists are working together to deliver the most powerful and advanced warships Australia has ever operated.
Raytheon Australia is the Hobart Class Combat System Systems Engineer, a key member of the AWD Alliance team building Australia's air defence capable ships, the new Air Warfare Destroyers.
Tyrone Electrical Services scope for this project which was worth more than $3 million, was as follows:
- Low voltage consumer mains
- Site main switchboard and power factor correction
- Low voltage reticulations systems
- Local electrical switchboards
- RCD protection
- Lighting systems including specialised lighting
- Exit and emergency lighting
- External and security lighting
- Power supplies to mechanical, hydraulic and fire protection services plant and equipement
- 450 kVA standby and peak load lopping diesel generation system
- 100kVA uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems
- Defence classified voice and data cabling system
- Green Star rating documentation
- Noise and vibration controls
- Identification and labelling
- Testing and commissioning
- Training in all facets of the systems installed
- Installation manuals and as installed drawings
- Maintenance and servicing, warranty and defects liability for 12 months
The two-level AWD Systems Centre overlooking the shipyard was officially opened by Minister for Defence Materiel in December 2010. It has been built to achieve a five-star green star rating signifying Australian excellence in environmentally sustainable design and construction.
